Capitalise the first letter of the first word. All other words begin with a
lower case letter unless otherwise determined by the form of the name (e.g.
the title is the name of an organization like Deutsches Institut…, Istituto
Nazionale…, etc.)

Selected from the European Education Thesaurus and entered from a

reflect the precise content of the resource to be described.

Optional field
Entered by the cataloguer where no EET term satisfies their requirements. The
EET must be used whenever possible. In cataloguing internet resources,
however, some concepts encountered will have no equivalent in the EET and new
subject entries will be necessary. Some terms entered in this field may be
considered for discussion and inclusion in future versions of the EET
(although such work is beyond the terms of reference of the PERINE project).

The name of the organization or individuals who have responsibility for the
publication of the item. This will normally be the name of the organization
which makes the item available. Use the most widely used form of the
organization's name.

Date

Required field
The date on which the record was created by the partner. Dates will be
entered in the form DD-MM-YYYY, e.g. 01-08-2002. Within PERINE dates will be
used mostly for partner data management purposes.

Initially PERINE adopts the following types:
Journal - Full Text; Journal - Abstract/contents; Frequently Asked Questions;
Government Publication; Document - Individual; Document - Bibliography;
Document - Collection; Organization; Organization - Documentation Centre;
Organization - Research Centre; Mailing List; News; Event Announcement;
Project; Database - Dataset; Database - Bibliographic; Reference; Resource
Guide. For PERINE's purposes the following have also been added: Organization
- Research Centre and Organization - Documentation Centre. Partners'
translations may be required for these phrases if we use this list as a
model. (For more information about Types see the section on resource types
in Guidelines for creating records in
the PERINE database.)

An indication of the item's file format, selected from a predefined list and
entered from a dropdown list based on a registered list of internet media types.
(Initially PERINE adopts the following types: application;
application/msword; application/pdf; audio; image; message; model; multipart;
text; video. translations may be required from each partner for each format
type apart from image, message and model for which there are already
translations in the European Education Thesaurus.)
